• Final Fantasy Adventure - Intro and Brief Gameplay Demonstration
As implied in the title of this video, only the intro of the game is shown, with some editing, followed by a quick gameplay demonstration from the beginning. This was made to be used in a review I made on this French blog here: geekmodeblog.blogspot.com This video is also supposed to give you a general idea of this game's story and gameplay, which could lead you to try it, I hope! When it was released in North America, it was renamed Final Fantasy Adventure, but it was originally called Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden (Gaiden meaning side-story or spin-off). What originally began as a Final Fantasy spin-off became the first game in the Seiken Densetsu series, which usually comes in North America as anything featuring the word Mana in its title (for instance, the great Secret of Mana on the SNES is actually the sequel to Final Fantasy Adventure since its name in Japan was Seiken Densetsu 2). To create further confusion, this game was titled Mystic Quest in Europe, a title very similar to Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for the SNES, a very different game. From this video, the story should be clear since it's summarized at the beginning of the game (Dark Lord has got to be the funniest name for a bad guy yet). The story is known to be very good for a Game Boy game, but featuring poorly translated dialogues. The game plays in an overhead perspective similar to The Legend of Zelda series, and it features many similarities, in fact, with that series. With the square screen ...

• Authors@Google: Serge Michel & Paolo Woods
The Authors@Google program welcomed Serge Michel and Paolo Woods to Google's New York office to discuss their book, "China Safari: On the Trail of Beijing's Expansion in Africa". "Serge Michel and Michel Beuret, tell the dramatic -- and largely unknown-- story of the rise of China's economic empire in Africa and how it stands to transform geopolitics. Over the course of nearly two years, Michel and Beuret traveled thousands of miles between China and Africa to report the story of this collaboration. Supplemented by the work of award-winning photojournalist Paolo Woods, China Safari establishes why the world is coming to realize Africa's potential and what role China is playing in the transformation." This event took place on July 22. 2009.

• "Pop Goes the Hype!" [Granger Community "Church" - gccwired] slicecast
* 47% of those attending DO NOT believe in salvation by grace. * 57% of those attending DO NOT believe in the authority of the Bible. * 56% of those attending DO NOT believe Jesus is the only way to eternal life. These are the statistics you would expect to find if you were to poll your local mall or baseball game, but these statistics are of a "Church"! The question must be now: "Is this even considered a Church?" If over half of the people attending there don't believe in core doctrines of Christ, how could this be a body of believers in Christ? The simple, logical, and right answer is, "It couldn't." Join Ingrid Schlueter and Chris Rosebrough on this edition of the slicecast as they discuss these new results the leaders there are producing from "leading smart" as they self-profess to be doing. UPDATE (8/23/08): Tim Stevens, executive public relations correspondent and spin control supervisor at Granger Community Business replied to these results in this blog post ( tinyurl.com ). Now, I am having trouble deciding which is more shocking, the results or his response. Here's a quote from it: "I would much rather be in a church where 57% don't believe in the Bible than in a church where 100% of those attending do believe in the Bible. That would be awful!" - Tim Stevens of Granger No, Tim, it would be awful if we believed that what you have there is a church instead of the business of promoting narcissism* that it is. It's when you willingly deceive people for the idol of ...
